Milford is a short height barley with extremely strong straw. It gives a good grain size with minimal disease issues. This variety is recommended in nine countries worldwide, proving it to be very flexible to growing conditions and variable climatic situations. Very good resistance to leaf rust and mildew makes it a simple low input option. Either in extreme weather or dry windy conditions.
Milford’s strong straw and intermediate maturity means it will handle most conditions making it a simple but reliable spring barley.
High yielding in most situations with very strong, short, stiff straw. Almost totally resistant to lodging and neck break. A PGR (plant growth regualtor) programme is not required in most situations. Good resistance to leaf rust and mildew. True spring type to be sown from mid July onwards.
